This year I was blessed with the job to design the RICE RALLY flyer again. The theme is ‘Satisfied.’ It was a hard theme to work with but certainly not the most difficult, especially when compared to last year’s theme. :P This year though we did something different and decided to design not one, not two, not three but FOUR different designs for the flyers! There is a subtle message behind these flyers in regards to the photos and the black circles in each one. When I was designing these, I think the message that I wanted to communicate was something along the lines of this.. Everyone has an empty hole within themselves which they want to fill up so that they can feel happy and satisfied with their lives. Whether it’d be the food or drinks they consume, hobbies like playing or listening to music, making memories with loved ones or maybe even just materialistic things like cars and other stuff. These are just some things that people try to fill that hole in their lives in order to feel that their time in this world is fulfilled. This is how the world acts in order to feel satisfied. But at RICE RALLY 2012, I bet they’re going to challenge those worldly conventions and hopefully will be able to reveal what it really feels like to be satisfied through God’s grace.
